Tips for the New Year.
--------------------
1. The most important tip for 2007 is one that you have probably heard before: never eat a
carbohydrate alone. Accompanying a lean protein or healthy fat with a carbohydrate maintains ideal weight and contributes to sensible weight loss,
impedes fluctuations in blood sugar, and better balances your emotions. In a word, the ideal combination for optimal health.2. Avoid crash or fad diets. Incorporating a short-term dietary fix as your News Year's Resolution often ends in failure. Use our Smart Detox 3-Day and/or Take Action 30-Day Diet Plan. Both were created to be gentle and balanced. For more detailed instruction, make an appointment with Bonnie, Carolyn, or Elana. 3. Sweetened or artificially sweetened beverages, including fruit juice, pack on the pounds. Keep it simple with water, sparkling water, coffee, and tea. 4. Snack responsibly and balanced utilizing the "never eat a carb alone" rule. 5. Take advantage of exercise and stress reduction techniques that work for you. 6. Create a positive outlook for 2007. Take time to smile and laugh. Once a day, stop and reflect on something good that happened. Make significant contributions to your family, friends, and community. Happy New Year! |

January Announcements.
--------------------
-Many of our new clients have been delighted with a new service we provide: The Pantry Makeover.
It works like this: upon completing their visit with Bonnie, one of our consultants will follow the client home (or at another arranged time). Our
consultant explains what is or is not acceptable in the client's pantry, refrigerator, and freezer based upon Bonnie's individualized suggestions. The
client will then receive suggestions to replace the "less than ideal" items.-January 23rd is officially "Rid the world of fad diets and gimmicks day." This is no joke. Relish the fact that you are following a dietary lifestlye that is healthy and balanced! -Some of you mentioned in our survey that you had no idea we had a daily blog. It is updated several times weekly and for those who want to stay up on the latest public health/nutrient/diet trends, it is a good read . Bookmark our blog today. -For many of you with small children, our online children's book, Fantastifood Fables: Attack of the Junk Food Junkies, is engaging family reading and a wonderful teaching tool. |
