Dear Valued Client,
|
Assessing one's toxic load is a very important, yet often ignored, piece of the wellness puzzle. Multiple factors create toxic burden. The goal is to
identify the triggers, remove them, make sure you are detoxifying properly, and create a long-term preventative plan to minimize your exposure without
greatly impacting your lifestyle.

Calculating Your Toxic Load
|
Toxins are a part of life. They're in the food we eat, the liquids we drink,
the air we breathe, and the products we put on our skin. Every week there is new research linking an environmental chemical to a human condition. We
have just scratched the surface with the dangers of what we are exposed to on a daily basis. What is most disturbing is that most chemicals have never
been tested for their long-term effects. Scientists now believe that the depth of toxic exposure does not just affect us, but future generations with
genetically-altering results.
The first question we must ask is, can we reduce the amount of toxicity in our environment? The answer is yes. The second question is, can we reduce
the amount of toxins that exist in our bodies? The answer is also yes. We will focus on the latter.
FIRST STEP - ASSESSMENT
There are hair, blood, and urine tests that analyze toxicity. However, the cost of these tests can be prohibitive. As a first line of defense, we have
adapted a free two-page worksheet called Calculating Your Toxic Load. Based upon your results, you can go to step two if warranted.
SECOND STEP - WORK WITH A PROFESSIONAL
If your worksheet suggests high levels of toxicity, we suggest working with a licensed health professional to construct a plan to further screen and
remove the toxins safely. There are too many of us who, genetically, are very poor methylators (i.e., do not detox very well) and can do more harm
than good if we do not detox safely.
Nutritional Concepts has created a new service called the Toxic Load Written Evaluation. After filling out our detailed questionnaire, we provide you with written,
detailed analysis about what steps you can take to reduce your toxic load.
THIRD STEP - MAKE LIFESTYLE A LONG-TERM SOLUTION
Prevention is the solution for reducing your exposure to unnecessary toxicity. Last year, we wrote an eNewsletter piece that lists myriad environmental challenges we face and lifestyle solutions for overcoming
them. We encourage you to read it.
