Celebrating 30 Years
NCI Well Connect: August 17, 2015
Dear Steve,

DID YOU KNOW that according to findings in the August issue of BMC Public Health, there is a significant negative association between tea drinking and tuberculosis? Promoting the consumption of tea as the daily drink among populations, particularly those with high tuberculosis risk, may reduce its incidence.

We have been informed that Allergy Multicaps has been discontinued. This was not a total shock as Allergy Fighters followed a similar path recently.

Luckily, the numerous clients who have already switched to Klaire Vita Spectrum have been very happy with it. As we have said to many of you, we like the Klaire multi even better from a purity and hypoallergenic standpoint.

Going forward, Klaire Vita Spectrum will be our long-term replacement. One minor note: if you do not take extra supplemental calcium, we encourage you to take between 250 mg. and 5o0 mg.

If you would like us to take a look at your file to make individual recommendations, do not hesitate to contact us.

Have a happy, healthy day. Steve and Bonnie

New Data on CT Scans
Bonnie: Scientists have shown that cellular damage is detectable in patients after CT scanning, according to a new study in Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

From this study, researchers now know that even exposure to small amounts of radiation from computed tomography scanning is associated with cellular damage. The results should encourage physicians toward adhering to dose reduction strategies.

The use of medical imaging for heart disease has exploded in the past decade. They expose patients to radiation, but until now, nobody knew of the very subtle, cell-level changes. The effects on human cells of low-dose radiation came from a wide range of cardiac and vascular CT scans commonly used for a number of reasons. A CT scan exposes patients to at least 150 times the amount of radiation from a single chest X-ray.

Please do not be cavalier in your decision to receive any type of scan. These should only be performed if absolutely necessary.
