Glutathione:
Miracle Methylator
This "master" amino acid
molecule has shown in studies done
on centenarians that those with
the best functional capacity have
the highest glutathione activity.
One main reason for glutathione's
link to longevity is it allows the
body to properly methylate
(detoxify) drugs, environmental
pollutants, and carcinogens.
Additionally, lymphocytes (white
blood cells), our front line
defense against infection,
requires glutathione to function
properly.
The role of glutathione is being
studied for a multitude of chronic
and acute diseases we commonly
see. Particularly intriguing is
the mounting research for more
unusual conditions such as wasting
due to AIDS, heavy metal
poisoning, sepsis, myocardial
ischemia, renal dysfunction, liver
disorders, corneal disorders, lung
inflammation in smokers, and
eczema.
Common foods that rich in or helps
the production of glutathione:
- Asparagus
- Allium vegtables (Garlic,
Onions)
- Avocado (helps boost
glutathione production)
- Brazil Nuts
- Cruciferous vegetables (Bok
Choy, Broccoli, Cauliflower)
- Papaya (helps boost
glutathione production)
- Spinach
- Watermelon
- Walnuts
Supplements to infuse with or aid
in the production of glutathione:
- Twinlab Allergy Fighters
- Alpha Lipoic Acid
- Milk Thistle/Silymarin
- N-Acetyl Cysteine (glutathione
precursor)
- Reduced Glutathione
