Dear Valued Subscriber,

Did you know that adults and children who watch television during dinner eat more than twice as much as if they were not watching television? Watching particularly stimulating shows with a lot of action increases food consumption that much more.

NOW OralBiotic with streptococcus salivarius is here! The probiotic lozenge colonizes the mouth, nose, and nasopharynx, crowding out pathogenic bacteria. It can prevent plaque, cavities, bad breath, ear infections, sore throats, colds, coughs, postnasal drip, and other sinus problems. It also tastes good!

CoQ10 Ameliorates Gulf War Illness Symptoms.
Steve: Gulf War Illness symptoms range from fatigue, muscle pain and weakness to decreased cognitive function and gastrointestinal and skin problems. In a study published in Neural Computation, researchers report that coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supplements provided health benefits for persons suffering from Gulf War illness symptoms.

Gulf War illness is due to chemical exposures, such as pesticides or pills given to soldiers to protect them from possible nerve agents. These chemicals can damage mitochondria, which generate the energy our cells need to do their jobs. When these powerhouses of the cells are disrupted, it can produce symptoms compatible with those seen in Gulf War illness or statin-related muscle wasting.

CoQ10 is a fat-soluble antioxidant made by the body to support basic cell functions, including directly assisting mitochondrial energy production. Over a course of three and a half months, the veterans in the study received a pill form of either CoQ10 or a placebo. Researchers found 80 percent of those who received 100mg of CoQ10 had improvement in physical function. Symptoms like headaches, fatigue with exertion, irritability, recall problems and muscle pain also improved.

Steve: If CoQ10 can improve the symptoms of this debilitating illness, imagine what it can do for day-to-day mitchondria deficiencies? Anything we can do to support the powerhouse of the cell, the better off we will be.

Be aware that there are vast differences in CoQ10 quality. Making sure you have one that crosses the blood/brain barrier is crucial.
