Memorial Day Double Sale!
Dear Steve,

DID YOU KNOW that there is a prescription medication that acts as an antibiotic AND probiotic? The category for this substance is called "eubiotic". The medication is more frequently being prescribed for IBS, traveler's diarrhea, and to safely wipe out pathogenic bacteria from the digestive system. It does not harm existing beneficial flora! Email Steve for details.

Any orders, phone calls, and emails will be handled on Tuesday, May 29th. Enjoy your holiday!

Starting today until end of day on Thursday May 31st, you can purchase May and June sale items. See below for what's on sale.

We are offering a one year NCI Well Connect Membership at 25% OFF at this link! Get today's incredible long-form issue by signing up today. For more details about NCI Well Connect Membership, see below.

Did you know that if you have an HSA or FSA debit/credit card, you can use it at Nutritional Concepts? While we cannot guarantee it because every account is different, we are able to process most HSA or FSA credit card transactions.

Metagenics sent a memo alerting us of a problem customers have had purchasing counterfeit and adulterated products from third party sources on the Internet. Pure Encapsulations alerted us to similar occurrences with their products. Overheated products, expired products, labels removed, QR codes removed, and label tampering are all major issues. Read the memo here.

We are not a third party vendor. We are an authorized vendor for Metagenics and Pure Encapsulations.

Have a happy, healthy day! Steve and Bonnie

Safe Anti-Inflammatory Antacid

Bonnie and Steve: Unless you are a research sleuth, one of the most important outcomes in recent memory regarding inflammation, went and gone with barely a whisper.

Of course, reading this headline would make most people's head spin: "Oral NaHCO3 Activates a Splenic Anti-Inflammatory Pathway: Evidence That Cholinergic Signals Are Transmitted via Mesothelial Cells". However, when we saw this study in the April issue of Journal of Immunology, we got very excited, and fearful.

Why We Are Excited
Oral NaHCO3 simply means taking sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda, by mouth. Without getting into the scientific dogma, researchers discovered that taking baking soda orally can have a major effect on inflammatory disease by optimizing spleen function.

Simply, drinking baking soda tells the spleen, which is part of the immune system where some white blood cells, like macrophages, are stored, to go easy on the immune response.

A daily dose of baking soda can not only reduce acidity, slow progression of the kidney disease, but now can address certain immune-related inflammatory disorders.

Why We Are Fearful
Drinking a daily dose of baking soda, especially long-term, can create an electrolyte imbalance, as well as increase blood pressure. We would not want anyone to get the impression that simply drinking baking soda is an intelligent thing to do, especially without the guidance of a licensed health professional.

What We Suggest
When you ingest sodium bicarbonate, make sure you accompany it with potassium bicarbonate. This way, there will be no electrolyte imbalance and no adverse effect on blood pressure. The problem is there are very few products available that contain the ideal sodium and potassium bicarbonate combination. Luckily, we have one!

We know many of you are already taking our sodium and potassium bicarbonate supplement safely. For anyone else thinking about it, you must ask us, or a licensed health professional who knows your situation intimately. Why?

For starters, those who are taking OTC or prescription reflux/antacid medication are forbidden from taking our supplement. That said, many of our clients have successfully weaned off these meds and phased in our supplement.
Chiropractic Case Studies

Children With Severe Trauma
The March 22nd issue of Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health, Chiropractic describes a case of a young autistic girl that was brought in for Chiropractic because of neck pain, low back pain, head banging, insomnia and uncontrolled behaviors. There were 12 Chiropractic adjustments over an eight-week period and each time that she came in for care she was taught, rigid and in a protective position. After the adjustments she was more relaxed, had a calmer demeanor, her outbursts ceased and sleep improved.

When I read cases like this it confirms the powerful effects of Chiropractic, especially since I have been working with children since 1989. Did you know there are two Chiropractic non-profits that work primarily with autistic and severely hurt children? They get results like this on a regular basis, which is a true gift to society.

Oklahaven is in Oklahoma City where Dr. Bobby Doscher is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the non-profit. She started this organization, which is celebrating its 50th year of helping severely hurt children return to health in a natural way. Her center has NEVER received state, federal, or United Way funding. She has traveled the world to work with these children and has taught other Chiropractors what she does, in order to help as many children as possible.

Kentuckiana is a Private, Charitable, NonProfit in Kentucky. It was founded in 1957 by Dr. Lorraine Golden. Kentuckiana emphasizes individual programs for kids with Special Needs to reach their optimum potential.

Read any of the testimonials from these two organizations and you'll see how the quality of life was improved for each child. I have witnessed the difference Chiropractic has had with the children I work with from helping ear infections, getting over colds quicker, calmer behavior, improved posture and help with pain. It feels wonderful to help these kids naturally and is why I wish all parents would include Chiropractic Care in their children's health care program.
