ASK BONNIE for January 2005

Question #1:

I read now that only one in four people have success after one year on popular diet programs? I don't know where to turn.

Answer #2:

I've always said, there is no magic bullet or quick fix. The reason many of these "fad" diets don't work for people is that they cannot stay on them. One can stay on a diet for a period of time, but what happens when one goes off of it? The weight usually comes back.

My philosophy with every client is for them to achieve optimal health through diet,  nutrients, and lifestyle. If my clients eat real, minimally processed food that suits their INDIVIDUAL needs, take prescribed nutrients that will correct deficiencies that affect them biochemically, and allow changes in lifestyle to support a healthy host, weight loss will come naturally at their body's own pace.

If you have the knowledge of what it takes FOR YOU to be optimally healthy, even if you fall off the wagon, you can always get back on. It's much tougher to do when following a diet that is "one size fits all."

Have a happy, healthy day.
