Question #1:

I am worried about my daughter who is vegetarian. I think is eating way too much soy.
What is your take on soy?

Answer #1:

The biggest issues with soy are:

1) blood type O's (ancient DNA) have an inability to use it or any plant
food for protein (so if she is "O," she can only count animal foods as
viable protein.

2) Soy in this country is loaded with pesticides which are toxic. We
also eat less fermented soy (tofu, tempeh, miso), and more soy protein
isolate.

3) Soy protein (isolated from the plant) is highly estrogenic and very difficult
to digest (it also blocks mineral absorption in large quantities). Most American
"meatless" products are isolate soy and contain hidden MSG-derivatives.

My recommendation to your daughter is, if not blood type "O," to follow
the healthiest vegetarian diet in the world (Japan): fermented
(always organic) soy products - tempeh, tofu, miso (1-2 servings daily
with fish and/or eggs daily and other beans occasionally, and many
vegetables/fruits (such as avocado, sea veggies, watermelon, sweet
potato, and healthy fats such as olive oil, nuts, and seeds.

The Americanized version of a vegetarian diet can be toxic!

Have a happy, healthy day.
