Question #1:
What are your thoughts on camel milk? Are there enough studies to support the "super food" claims? Where can you get it?
Answer #1:
Not enough data to qualify it as a superfood, but promising nonetheless. It is
not widely available as well.
Question #1:
As you have already posted on your blog, you are well aware of the FSA study
published recently. I thought I would share this with you to see what you
think: Organic
Food is Just a Tax on the Gullible.
Answer #2:
I got a nice nice laugh out of it.
Putting the study's findings aside, did the writer ask himself the question
about what is health and what is nutrition? Is it not more than just nutrient
density? Does it not count that the organic food system avoids the use of
pesticides, synthetic growth hormones, and antibiotics, while building healthy
soil, protecting natural resources and wildlife, promoting health and nutrition,
and putting out less carbon emissions?
Ah, but the study was focusing on nutrient density alone. Albeit scant, there is
data for and against organic being more nutrient dense than conventional,
especially when it comes to antioxidant activity. One study does not close the
book on the issue. You can do a quick search of our blog simply by typing the
word "organic" or "soil." A bunch of info comes up.
If you look at the customer's true desire for choosing organic vs. conventional,
it has always been predominately about the lack of pesticides/toxins.
I always tell clients that if they are unable to consume organic produce for
economic or philosophical reasons, they should not avoid conventional produce.
It is much more healthful than the alternative.
Have a happy, healthy day.
