ASK
BONNIE for April 2004
Question #1:
I want to stop using the Vivelle patch for Hormone Replacement Therapy. What Do You Suggest?
Answer #1:
I am a certified menopause educator. The research regarding Hormone
Replacement Therapy for blood clotting, weight issues, and cancer is not a
pretty picture. However, stopping HRT cold turkey is also not recommended. You
need an individualized plan to take steps for weaning you off of the patch in
accordance with your physician. Unfortunately, because we are all different, you
would need to schedule an appointment to discuss the proper method for you as an
individual.
Have a happy, healthy day.
