I am 14 weeks pregnant.  I was told there are certain types of fish I can not eat.  I love going out for fish frys and having cod, haddock, or perch.  Are any of these types of fishes not save for my baby?

Answer #1:

According the the FDA, for pregnant/lactating women...

Unsafe Fish
-any raw fish
-fresh tuna steaks
-marlin
-halibut
-pike
-walleye
-white croaker
-largemouth bass

12 oz. weekly maximum
-canned tuna
-mahi mahi
-mussels
-cod
-pollack
-great lakes salmon
-blue crab (gulf of mexico)
