ASK BONNIE for July 1999
Question:Answer:
Very good question. While the ingredients for each of the four supplements seem compatible with their respective blood types, I refrain from endorsing them for two reasons.
The first reason are food sensitivities/food allergies. When I incorporate blood type food planning into a client's diet, I always take into consideration the food sensitivities/food allergies of the individual. Food sensitivity/food allergy overrides blood type. Soy exists in at least one of the "for blood type supplements." So, for instance, if the blood type A diet says that an individual with blood type A can eat soy, but doesn't take into consideration the food sensitivity/allergy that individual suffers, the supplement could do more harm than good.
The second reason is the "for blood type supplements" may not contain a sufficient amount of essential nutrients needed for specific individuals and may give them a false sense of security. It's possible that some individuals could add them to an already existing multi vitamin/mineral, if no reactions are noted.
Have a happy, healthy day - Bonnie
