ASK
BONNIE for July 2003
Question #1:
I
have to ask a question. I am so sick of doctors telling me that yeast overgrowth
is a farce. I did not follow the plan after my consultation with you because
they told me that it's a crock.
Anyway...it was May and I still felt awful - lack of energy, bloating, and REALLY irritable. I tried special diets, exercise, etc. and nothing made me feel better. Finally, I said to myself, "That's it. I'm going back on my diet from Bonnie that worked 5 years ago."
Two days ago, I started the diet - I cut out bread, bad fats, sugar, etc. and I have literally deflated inches in only 72 hours. It's like a miracle. In addition, I have not had a low blood sugar attack in the past three days. I was having them numerous times per day and I am confirmed non-diabetic. My boyfriend asked me why I'm not irritable. It's only been three days! I plan on continuing the diet. Tonight, I'm having vegetables and fish.
So I'd like to ask you what should I say to these doctors and all these people that put me down when they ask me what kind of diet I'm on.
Answer #1:
Print out this response and hand it to them!
Question #2:
Is there any connection between diet and eczema?
Answer #2:
IT
IS the connection the most obvious and common.
Eczema is an autoimmune condition triggered by substances called cytokines that
constantly activate inflammation. Diet must be looked at first. One should
concentrate on the most common food agitators such as wheat, eggs, milk/cow's
milk products, soy, corn, yeast foods, salicylate foods, etc. Most of my clients
who go on a strict elimination diet show drastic improvement in their eczema
symptoms. There are also airborne and plant allergens that cross react with
certain foods such as wheat/ragweed. Once diet is managed and no improvement
occurs, one then must look at environmental agents (chemicals in food and water,
body care products, medications, household environment, etc.).
Have a happy, healthy day.
