DID YOU KNOW that a new, gargantuan study from Stroke following subjects over 14.3 years found that those with the highest eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) fatty acids levels had a 17% lower total stroke incidence and 18% lower ischemic stroke risk than those with the lowest EPA levels?
For docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), there was a 12% lower incidence of total stroke and a 14% lower incidence of ischemic stroke in those with the highest DHA levels compared with those with the lowest levels.
EPA and DHA are omega-3 fatty acids most commonly found in fish and fish oil supplements.
