DID YOU KNOW that last month, The Endocrine Society recommended against vitamin D blood testing for annual checkups and things like fertility visits?

We were shocked and disgusted with this new guideline. Among the myriad reasons, here are two new studies that should make The Endocrine Society rue their decision.

Researchers in The British Journal of Nutrition found that maternal vitamin D deficiency can be linked to brain development disorders like schizophrenia and addiction in offspring. They found conclusive evidence that vitamin D affects the structural differentiation of dopaminergic neurons, which is the "reward" molecule.

In a Nutrients study, vitamin D deficiency was associated with a 62 percent higher likelihood of dental caries. This study suggests the importance of adequate vitamin D levels for maintaining dental health.

One would never know they are vitamin D deficient unless they get a blood test!

DID YOU KNOW that several new studies have confirmed the effectiveness of dietary supplements for active COVID infections as well as long COVID?

Given that the COVID summer wave is in full force, these results could not have come at a better time to remind us to be vigilant with our preventive supplements.

A new study from Neuroimmunology Reports found that long COVID's neurological symptoms and neuropathogenesis, notably brain fog, can be treated with N-acetyl cysteine (NAC).

The same study also found that for mitochondrial rejuvenation due to long COVID-related fatigue, B-vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D, and alpha lipoic acid were highly effective.

Finally, a study from Nutrition Reviews found that high-dose vitamin C supplementation can alleviate inflammatory response and hinder the aggravation of active COVID-19 infection.

Most importantly, all of these supplement treatments were well tolerated and exhibited no side effects!

DID YOU KNOW that a new study from Frontiers in Nutrition echoes what we think is one of the best ways to bring on satiety during meals? Satiety is the feeling of fullness.

Researchers found that meals rich in lean protein and healthy fat, and low in grain carbohydrates, exhibited increased glucagon and leptin hormones study subjects. Both of these hormones are associated with satiety.

The findings endorse our belief that protein-enriched, low grain carbohydrate meals with healthy fats are optimal for weight balance.

NOTE: This study also endorsed fruit and vegetable carbohydrates at meals, Fruit was satiety neutral and most vegetables helped bring on satiety quicker.
