Endocrine Society's Epic Fail

DID YOU KNOW that last month, The Endocrine Society recommended against vitamin D blood testing for annual checkups and things like fertility visits?


We were shocked and disgusted with this new guideline. Among the myriad reasons, here are two new studies that should make The Endocrine Society rue their decision.


Researchers in The British Journal of Nutrition found that maternal vitamin D deficiency can be linked to brain development disorders like schizophrenia and addiction in offspring. They found conclusive evidence that vitamin D affects the structural differentiation of dopaminergic neurons, which is the "reward" molecule.


In a Nutrients study, vitamin D deficiency was associated with a 62 percent higher likelihood of dental caries. This study suggests the importance of adequate vitamin D levels for maintaining dental health.


One would never know they are vitamin D deficient unless they get a blood test!
