DID YOU KNOW that microminerals copper, manganese, selenium, and zinc regulate neuronal signaling and brain function? Deficiencies of these minerals are common in adolescents due to unhealthy eating habits.


A study from Frontiers in Nutrition found that academic performance in adolescents with the lowest micromineral levels was lower by an average of seven-percentage points compared to those with the highest, based upon the Raven’s Standard Progressive Matrices test. There was a positive association with both cognitive function and academic performance.
