DID YOU KNOW that magnesium levels have a significant effect on the risk of metabolic syndrome? Metabolic syndrome (MetS) qualifies if you have at least three of these five issues: abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high serum triglycerides, and low serum high-density lipoprotein.


According to results of a study from Nutrition Review, those with the highest magnesium concentration had 46% significantly lower odds of MetS. Each 0.5-mg/dL increase in the level of circulating magnesium was related to an 11% reduction in the odds of contracting MetS.
