DID YOU KNOW that there are three new studies regarding the safety of antidepressants you need to be aware of?
A study from Frontiers in Psychiatry found that the use of antidepressants was linked to a two percent weight gain in patients who used them at any point during a 6-year follow-up.
Findings presented at the European Heart Rhythm Association 2025 showed that the risk for sudden cardiac death was more than twice as high in individuals who used antidepressants for 6 or more years compared with that in those not taking the medications.
People with anxiety or depression show distinct patterns in their gut bacteria, and commonly prescribed psychiatric medications such as antidepressants may shift the gut microbiome even more than the disorders themselves, and not in a positive way, according to a new study from Molecular Psychiatry.
