DID YOU KNOW that results of a study from Food and Chemical Toxicology shows the power of silymarin, the active ingredient in milk thistle extract?


Diquat is a widely utilized herbicide. Inadvertent exposure to it can result in detrimental effects on both animal and human health, particularly causing liver damage. The objective of the study was to examine the protective properties of silymarin against diquat-induced inflammatory damage in the liver by alleviating oxidative stress and inhibiting certain inflammatory cytokine pathways.


Silymarin exerted a protective effect against diquat-induced liver damage by attenuating oxidative stress and suppressing inflammatory cytokine signaling.
