DID YOU KNOW that yet another negative artificial sweetener study was just published? It seems like every week there's a new study on the negative effects of zero calorie sweeteners such as sucralose, aspartame, and erythritol. This time it's erythritol.
A study from Journal of Applied Physiology found that erythritol triggers a cascade of cellular changes that could raise stroke risk by ramping up harmful oxidative stress inside cells, disrupting protective nitric oxide pathways, and blunting the brain’s natural clot-busting abilities. Erythritol caused a 75% increase in harmful cellular stress and reduced protective nitric oxide production by 20%. The sweetener increased blood vessel constrictor production by 30% and completely blocked the normal clot-fighting response. This was after consuming only one beverage with erythritol.
Please check your food, beverage, and alternative sweetener labels for erythritol. If you see something that has it, throw it away!
