From eNewsletter 11/22/2023
DID YOU KNOW that for those traveling across multiple time zones over the holidays and have found melatonin ineffective at limiting jet lag, there is another supplement that could be helpful: phosphatidylserine.
Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid and is a component of the cell membrane. The claims for it preventing jet lag have to do with regulating cortisol levels, which can become dysfunctional when your circadian rhythm is off from travel.

Vitamin D Astounds
Steve: I know many of you are traveling or preparing to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with your families. I don't want to bog you down with a long piece. I thought you might be interested in the vitamin D research I parsed just from the last three months.
Here is a list of what optimizing your vitamin D levels can assist with or prevent (research references are available upon request):
Mortality
Aging
Inflammation
Cancer
Ulcerative Colitis
Shorter hospital stays
High blood pressure
Blood sugar disorders
Atrial Fibrillation
Sarcopenia
Multiple Sclerosis
Canker sores
Psychiatric disorders, especially in children
Muscle damage from exercise
Heavy metal exposure
Liver damage
Thyroid dysfunction
Depression
Healthy pregnancy
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Overweight and obesity
Autoimmune disease
Urinary incontinence
Osteoarthritis
Atopic Dermatitis
Respiratory illnesses
Mitochondrial respiration
Arterial stiffness
Crohn's disease
Tuberculosis
Mitochondrial function
Compelling no? It's especially imperative to optimize vitamin D now that there is less sunlight exposure and colder weather in many places around the world.
