DID YOU KNOW that a higher intake of folate (activated form) and vitamin B6 (pyridoxal-5-phosphate form) years before diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease was associated with reduced risk for mortality, whereas intake after diagnosis provided little survival benefit, new research from Movement Disorders showed?
The protective effect was strongest with intake 12-16 years before diagnosis, especially from supplemental sources.
