Multivite Study Shocks

From eNewsletter 9/28/2022

DID YOU KNOW that one of the lowest quality commercial multivitamin-minerals was shown to improve cognition in older adults compared with placebo over a three year period? A study from The Journal of the Alzheimer's Association found that improved global cognition, episodic memory, and executive function were found in older adults who took the multivitamin-mineral than those who did not. The effect was even more pronounced in those with cardiovascular disease. The authors purported that 3 years of multivitamin-mineral supplementation appeared to have slowed aging by 1.8 years, or by 60%. The authors claimed to be "shocked" by the results. Imagine what the results would have been if researchers had used a quality multivitamin-mineral!

Your Pet Deserves the Best!

Steve: Is the saying "people treat their pets better than they treat themselves" really true? Hopefully not for our clients, but there is truth to it. We can, and should, treat our pets as well as ourselves. Just like with humans, it is difficult to provide everything your pet needs from food alone. Their diet should be augmented with a solid nutrient foundation, and when necessary, targeted nutrients. For this reason, we have taken our decades of dietary supplement expertise, performed an exhaustive search for just about every brand on the market, and found our favorite dietary supplement line for dogs and cats. Thorne Vet ThorneVet supplements have an impeccable reputation among veterinarians. We feel it is the most efficacious, of the highest quality, and most importantly the safest pet supplement brand. Until next Monday, all ThorneVet supplements we carry are 20% OFF! To peruse the ThorneVet line or order from our wellness shop, please visit here (to see prices, you must enter the Guest Area paywall password: discount2018). Pet Support by Coach Care We are elated to announce that Carolyn Martinelli a.k.a. "Coach Care" will be available to answer your questions about ThorneVet pet supplements. Any questions should be directed to Carolyn at Please leave detailed contact information, as well as the name, age, sex, breed, and/or health issue(s) and med(s) of your pet so Carolyn can respond accurately.

Coffee and Caffeine Alternatives

Steve: Many of us do not tolerate coffee and caffeine, and they are not mutually exclusive. Some tolerate caffeine but cannot tolerate coffee because of salicylate intolerance or acid reflux. Some can tolerate decaf coffee but cannot tolerate caffeine because they have a mutation(s) of a gene that does not allow them to process it. I have listed several alternatives if you happen to fall into one or both of these categories. Caffeine Alternatives Sunrider Calli Tea (unfortunately it is current out of stock) Decaf Coffee Decaf Green Tea Hot Water with Lemon Herbal tea (if tolerated) Coffee Alternatives Ecoteas or Wisdom of the Ancients brand Yerba Mate Tea Pure Encapsulations CaffPhenol (caffeine and L-Theanine in a capsule) Hint Energy Water (water, caffeine, and natural flavor) Tea (black and green) Future Caffeine Alternatives (we will have more data within the next year) Theacrine Mangifera indica (mango tree) leaf Alpinia galanga (galangal - herb from the ginger family)
