Study Lauds Fatigue Buster

From eNewsletter 10/19/2022

DID YOU KNOW that coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supplementation showed significant fatigue-alleviating effects for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome and for healthy individuals, according to a recent study in Pharmacology? This is significant on multiple fronts. First, CoQ10 is included in one of our formulas (along with Urolithin A and resveratrol) for supporting long COVID, which shares many of the same symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. Second, CoQ10 is great for healthy individuals who need protection from daily lifestyle-related fatigue. Third, this shows yet again how important CoQ10 is for those taking statin medication, which counts fatigue as one of its side effects.

An Allergy Reminder

Steve: While some parts of the country may have had their first frost, many other others have not, and are still enduring mold and ragweed environmental allergens. Let the following be a reminder for those who suffer seasonal or year-around environmental allergies (dust, tree pollen, flower pollen, grass pollen, ragweed, mold, among others). If you focus on limiting the foods that cross-react with your environmental allergies, you can attain a measurable amount of relief. If you are unaware or forgot about the cross-reacting dogma, here is a short explanation. Because many plants we consume exhibit similar proteins to plants we may be allergic to, consuming them especially during the height of their respective growth seasons may exacerbate allergic symptoms. By simply removing these plant foods during the height of each season, relief can be found. For example, if you are tree pollen allergic, you avoid apples during the height of the season. If you are ragweed allergic, you avoid chamomile and stevia. If you are grass allergic, you avoid wheat and corn. You get the idea. I have done this since I was in my teens as I suffer from seasonal allergies. Since I've done this, I rarely have to use OTC antihistamines, even though I live in a community surrounded by prairie and I am grass pollen allergic! For self-help, our Conquering Allergy and Intolerance Action Plan has "Remove and Replace" protocols for all allergic seasons, which list what foods are offenders and what they can be replaced with during the height of each season. Of course, you can always make an appointment for individualized assistance.
