DID YOU KNOW that scientists have found more clarity regarding the link between red meat and colon cancer?

In a study from Cancer Discovery, researchers discovered that heme (iron) from red meat drives the progression of colorectal cancer. However, this was only apparent when there was overconsumption of red meat.

If you consume grass-fed red meat twice weekly or less, colon cancer risk is not an issue. The one caveat would be if you have high serum iron and/or high serum ferritin levels. If you do, red meat would be discouraged until levels normalize.
